Hello!
I am Dandara Veiga, a passionate dancer originally from Alegrete-RS, Brazil. My journey in dance began at the Social Project Primeiros Passos and continued at Escola de Danca Ballerina, Studio Margarita Fernandez in Argentina, Opus Ballet in Italy, and Annarella Academia de Ballet e Dança in Portugal. I further honed my skills as a scholarship student at The Alvin Ailey School in 2016.
In 2017, I joined Ballet Hispanico, embarking on a remarkable six-year journey. I had the privilege of gracing renowned stages worldwide, including Vail Dance Festival, Fall for Dance, and Jacob's Pillow, among others. In 2022, I received international acclaim for my lead role in the portrayal of Eva Peron in Ballet Hispanico's first full-length ballet "Dona Peron" by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa.
In 2023, Dance Magazine recognized me as a cover artist and number one of the "25 To Watch."
Beyond the stage, I have ventured into film, starring in the short movie "Deceive," which earned a Best Actress nomination at the Paris Arts and Movies Awards in 2021. I also joined the Metropolitan Opera of New York City as a soloist dancer in Florencia en el Amazonas and starred in the 2023 New York Lottery Christmas commercial.
As an artist, my goal is to express emotions, tell stories, and communicate through movement. My extensive professional experience has allowed me to perform in various festivals globally and collaborate with acclaimed artists. I've also been part of projects with Black Iris Project, Plié Project, and featured in publications like Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit Magazine, Blacks in Ballet, and Pointe Magazine.
I'm proud of my achievements, grateful for the enriching collaborations, and excited for the artistic journey that lies ahead.
